Acoustic Path creates software for musicians, music lovers and educators. Our aim is threefold; enable music education through technology, support the growth and development of musicians and audiences, and improve everyone's lives through the personal, social and cultural benefits of music.
The company was established in 2006 and is located in Canberra, Australia.
Ideology
The celebrated bassist and composer Charles Mingus is quoted as having said, Making the simple complicated is commonplace; making the complicated simple, awesomely simple, that's creativity. While Mingus was referring to simplicity in music, his words are equally applicable to all forms of art, including the art of creating finely-crafted software. Acoustic Path acknowledges this idea as a fundamental goal, and strives to develop simple, creative and rewarding products for people from all walks of life.
Founder
Acoustic Path was founded by musician, technologist and general jazz wonk, Cameron Grant. Cameron's main instruments are double and electric bass, although he has been known to murder a funk groove on the drums. In between slaving over a hot keyboard, Cameron is always searching for more time to complete his degree in jazz studies at the ANU School of Music. Prior to founding Acoustic Path, Cameron spent seven years with Microsoft Australia as an enterprise strategy and software development consultant where he specialised in product design and engineering with web technologies.
